The original “Tholene” Salve and/or Smith’s was developed as a Rosebud Brand still associated with their 1914 “Trade R.P.CO. Mark”. Today this tin stands as a testament to these 130 years of business and is indeed a rare a collector’s item.
Smith’s Vintage “Mentholated Salve”

Smith's Mentholated Salve was formulated by Dr. George F. Smith as an application for minor irritations of the nose, burns, scalds, and skin irritations, chapped lips, face and hands, bites and stings of non-poisonous insects and cooling and soothing after shaving!
This authentic and rare vintage salve was originally patented by Dr. G.F. Smith under the name “Tholene," then renamed as Smith’s Mentholated Salve, Menthol Salve, and today, Smith’s Menthol Eucalyptus Balm.
